National Maritime Museum / Ships, Clocks and Stars: The Quest for Longitude / Installation prototype.
An opportunity to collaborate with the NMM on an installation peice provided a great opportunity for me to further develop my immersive media interests.
The purpose of these simulations was to test the viability of a large scale, multi dimensional immersive projection of an atmospheric seascape depicting large ocean swells within the entrance pavilion to the NMMs' major Summer Exhibition in 2014.
I also adapted the simulations for transferable user-testing inside of a virtual reality HMD (head mounted display) when it was not possible to project at full scale. This process was very useful in determining the parameters for a comfortable user-experience for the final piece, before commissioning and committing to the detailed and costly CGI artwork.
