A study of life and death, this piece documents the cycle of the oriental Dynamite Lillie. A formally lit still life composition, 24 000 frames were recorded over six weeks. The bulbs open and move responding to the ambient light, the temperature of the studio and to one another's presence.
They bloom, sexually interact, die and decay. The full six minute version can be seen here.

Water is created through the formation of stars and has been in existence for as long as the Universe. In it’s liquid, gaseous or solid forms it is vital to every life form on Earth. Spiritually and philosophically it is considered a purifier. Physically, for the most part, it is what we are.
Prototyping for the gamification of the imagery within a sharable online interactive touch screen environment.
Touching the hotpoints reveals the the nature of the water consumption data -
eg. the production of 1kg of beef = 10,000 litres of water

A symbiotic relationship exists between sound and image.
The moving image is created by sampling pixels of the still life photographs of audio output components, then re-organising their spatial co-ordinates in a virtual three dimensional workspace. Electronic sound is generated by sampling the colour, tonal and spatial data values of the images. Those values are used to create a histogram which synthesises the spectrum of an audio signal waveform which in turn reorientates the x, y and z co-ordinates of the extracted pixels. New frames are created from each original frame and are then linearly sequenced.
Visual identity imagery for the Bleach* Festival 2016 - the annual multi-arts festival of the Gold Coast which aims to develop the Gold Coast’s cultural identity and creative industries by connecting art with the community through the expression of music, theatre, dance, visual arts and outdoor events.
The work was produced in a reverse-brief fashion whereby the creative direction and execution of the festiavl's visual identity media assets were generated from a concept piece that I executed through a cross-disciplinary approach in collaboration with Guerrilla experience agency, art director Mark Bannister, the Artistic Director of Bleach* Louise Bezzina and the dance company The Farm.
I co-produced, directed and photographed the innovative still, moving and interactive imagery which has been disseminated through 30,000 printed programs, online via approximately 37, 312 website visits from unique users.
Over 1, 000 000 Facebook impressions from almost half a million unique users and the Bleach* Festival Instagram account experienced a 60 % increase in followers in 2015 from 2, 216 to 3, 533 in 2016.
There were more than 100 000 multiple outdoor installations and print media ainsertions and over 2 000 000 people were reached across targeted areas on through the television commercial.
I continue to produce work for Bleach* as the Creative Director at Guerilla.

An experiment in form, context and visual metaphor. A reiterative process has led to this series of still and moving images, as the work evolves it's meaning and the contextual approach evolve, revolve and dissolve.
